Tim grew up on the Mitchell Road farm in Blissfield, Michigan. Fishing, antiquing and working on classic cars were lifelong passions he pursued.

A gifted mechanical and electrical technician, it was well known that he could put his hand to anything and make it sing. Tim led Luhr’s Landing Marina on Torch River for 40 years and his reputation there for excellence will surely endure.
Tim was preceded in death by parents, Alton and Ethel (Beaverson); brother, Dan; and sister, Ann.

He is survived by daughter, Mattea (Johnson) Wellnitz and granddaughter Naya Johnson Wellnitz; stepdaughter, Nicolette (Bounting) Chaisson; and granddaughters McKenzie, Cassidy and Layni Chaisson.
In accordance with Tim’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 19, from 1-3 p.m. at The Torch Riviera.

Those wishing to express sympathy may consider a memorial donation in Tim’s name to The Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy at www.gtrlc.org or send a check to 3860 N. Long Lake Rd. Suite D Traverse City, MI 49684.
Volunteer fireman, the one you called when stranded on the lake, Tim was a trusted and respected mentor to many, touching more lives than probably even he knew.
